Phyllostachys aureosulcata 'Harbin-Inversa' growing in Rochester Indiana zone 5b

Being bright yellow with green stripes make this a very ornamental bamboo! New culms can also briefly have streaks of red in full sun during the early summer.

Despite its name, 'Harbin-Inversa' is not a sport of 'Harbin' since it lacks the ridges exhibited by 'Harbin'.

We've noticed that 'Harbin-Inversa' seems to be a faster grower and much more cold hardy than 'Harbin'.
